Interview is a process of knowing a person to get important information. Last week was a bombarding and tiring experience of series of interview questions. What’s the price? It’s a job offer that pays the bills. And a career to change lifestyle status, plus bringing home the bacon.
So, what makes a successful interview? Let us use the method of exposition (process) to create an impact of organization and logical emphasis.
First, Research about the company and the job description. Though it was a surprise for not listening attentively that I will apply for an elite lifestyle magazine, I assumed that it was a multinational, bottling company. What a jerk?
Good thing the interviewer shared about the company profile and the job that I might have.
Second, Practice speaking in front of a mirror makes good results. Assume that the mirror is the interviewer. Then ask your friend to throw some interview questions that might be asked. What’s the catch? It is nothing but speech improvement for not stammering, frequent use of fillers and confidence.
Third, Dress comfortably in business attire. You might wear no brand to stand. However, it helps to walk in executive like you feel at home. You don’t need to be conscious about a small size issue of your long sleeves. And walk anxiously whether they are looking at you wrinkled attire.
Fourth, Politeness is Good PR. Always think that you’re talking to a teacher when you were in Grade school. It yields a good impression and positive results. Just like Lady Gaga’s line in a song (Born this way) – Don’t be a drag, Just be a Queen. In addition, Thank you is a magical word to all people.
Fifth, tell something unusual about yourself. Most interviewers are impressed when you tell them about the speech presentation full of adjectives of your boring life. Your resume is just basic information about you. On the other hand, the delivery of your golden mind and tongue impresses more. Always remember, something unusual is News and Impress them to hire YOU.
