Communication Style: The Driver

I had a carebay training today. Carebay, even our trainer didn’t know that. Anyway, we had a quiz. It was like a facebook’s quiz. What is your communication style according to our personality? How sweet? I got the “The Driver”. My colleague, Thessa got the same. How do we define that kind of communication style? Here it is:
• The motivator
• The leader
• We find ways… Flexible
• Opposite to Amiable
• Knowledgeable

Got the point, it was somewhat me. In a simple explanation, the driver drives a car even if that is a rocky road or a well cemented road. How do I internalize this communication style to my calls and job?
• Being knowledgeable. Using tools, resources and experience effectively. Learning in every call. Thanks to the Deep Drive Analysis and Quality Coaching. It helps.
• Being motivated. Finding a way to motivate myself through every day’s sunshine. Having a principle that each day has different source of happiness.
• Being Flexible. Through searching for alternatives in troubleshooting. It will help me in dealing with my customers. Always check boss, ask further support and be nice as always.

It was not only “The Driver” which is on the quiz, there were three quadrants. What are those? Let us discuss those one by one. The opposite of “The Driver” is the “Amiable”. Rachel described them as:
• Friendly
• Compromising
• Reflective
• Empathic

They want to see both parties to agree. In my opinion, it is like a politician making sure that government and people have one agreement. Making themselves love is their way to be appreciated. For their appreciative attitude drives them.

The other quadrant was Analytical. The only person who got that Communication Style was Allan. How did he describe that kind of communicator?
• A communicator in details
• Systematic
• Less Emotional
• Direct
I would say that most of the scientist, lawyers, and logical people are these kinds of communicators. It opposes Expressive communicators.

The opposite of Analytical is Expressive. The “Emo”. Two of our colleagues got this communication style, Jeema and Isay. Well, they describe it as:
• Emotional
• Superficial
• Fun Loving Person
• Talkative

There was an example, a concrete one to describe them. They will go to Boracay because they love to and they will enjoy it. They will not be bothered about the expenses, the hearsay about prostitutes and bombing. In my opinion, they are the happy-go-lucky persons.

If you will read this, you might reflect and find the communication style that defines your personality. It was a fun training.
