The trumpet of EDUCATION

The academic year 2009-2010 will be an adventurous edge towards a long road of success. Bachelor of Arts Major in Journalism, the course decided through wisdom. Writing with ethical wit is an advantage to pursue a career of life, love and devotion.

Journalism, gathering, evaluating, and distributing facts of current interest. In journalism, reporters research and write stories for print and electronic distribution, often with the guidance of editors or producers. The earliest journalists produced their stories for news sheets, circulars, newspapers, and periodicals. With technological advances, journalism came to include other media, such as radio, documentary or newsreel films, television, and the Internet. Why did I choose to take Journalism? Let me give you this bullet in more definitive way…
• I’ve been fond of writing although my last contribution was in grade school in a school news paper.
• My social consciousness was definitely extreme through my late father’s socio-political influence. He was not a politician but he has encouraged me to read newspapers and sociological, political and philosophical books.
• I fell in love with essay exams since college. I got an ace when I took up the hardy pharmacological exam in sophomore nursing.
• Writing has been my outlet through emotional and physical stress. It is definitely my tradition to share my insights and thoughts from other people.
• Broadcast Communication was my previous course in PUP, broader than Journalism but specific than Broadcast Communication.
• Life of a writer is highly admirable to me. If I can’t be a philosopher, be a philosopher through documentation, evidences of facts and advocate of life through the use of the pen, paper, and computer software applications like Microsoft word, Lay outing through printing machineries.
• Journalists are intelligent people. The ideas came through research, investigation, experience and interaction to different classes of people.

What are my goals through the new academic year? Actions that will take
Place to pursue my passion in writing.
• Of course, to have a degree in Journalism through application of learning.
• Budget my money, time and physical contributions in the academic year.
• Enjoy my new major as a catalyst to my endeavors.
• In the midst of problems, being focus in the problem without influenced by unwise decisions.
• Sincere friendship establishment with my classmates, professors, school administrators and even people that I will meet.
• Ignoring the tiring moments that may exhaust my physical, emotional, and spiritual values.

Fields that I want to pursue someday if ever I finish my major. Future agenda
After two or three years of study:
• Editorial Assistant in a newspaper or a magazine company. The compensation is low; however, my writing development is essential.
• English teacher in a Secondary Institution where I will share my learning through English writing, grammar and communication skills.
• Copy writer in an Advertising company somewhere in commercial cities in Metro Manila.
• Freelance writer in a newspaper, website, or even in a magazine.
• Administration jobs in major companies or malls.
• Be a contact center agent forever as my job right now.
